Meaning of the Four-Color Cross

The P.R.A.Y. emblem has a shield with a four-color cross. The four colors converge into a point to create an “X” at the center of the cross. “X” is the first letter in the Greek word for Christ, and it is symbolic of how Christ should be at the center of our lives.

The four colors correspond to the four levels in the P.R.A.Y. series:

God and Me – RED

“Best Friends with Jesus” – red symbolizes love and the blood of Christ, the foundation of faith for young children!

God and Family – YELLOW

“Growing in God’s Love” – yellow symbolizes sunlight and joy, what better way to represent the blessings of a strong family!

God and Church – BLUE

“My Journey with Christ” – blue symbolizes loyalty and truth, important precepts as young people engage in the worship and outreach of their congregations

God and Life – GREEN

“Called by Christ to Serve” – green symbolizes new life and eternal life, as young adults become intentional on how their faith will impact their future
