PART 2 SECTION I |
ing the religious recognitions programs to girls and young women becomes of greater value to Girl Scout councils. Search Institute of Minneapolis, Minnesota has identified 40 developmental assets that are essential for children’s healthy development (see “40 Developmental Assets for Youth” in Appendix 2A). One of these assets is involvement in the religious community. Girl Scout councils can turn to the religious recognitions programs to help develop this asset in girls and young women. The religious recognitions programs will involve multiple sectors of the community: the religious institution, the family, and the Girl Scout council. The more places that deliver the same message and teach the same values to girls, the stronger the girls will be.
