4. Recruit members for the RRI Team.
• Develop a job description for RRI Team members (see Sample Position
Description in Appendix 2A).
• Be intentional about recruiting representatives from the various faith
groups.
• Identify adults who have received an adult religious recognition. These
adults have already demonstrated outstanding service to Girl Scouting and their religious institution and may be potential RRI Team members.
• Identify older girls who have completed the religious recognition program
of their faith. Involve them in a girl/adult partnership with the RRI Team.
• Identify parents (whose daughters have completed a religious recognitions
program). Parents who can speak from experience and who have had a positive experience with the program can make good spokespersons for
the RRI Team.
• Identify potential team members through neighborhood/service unit
meetings and through the council newsletter.
5. Register your RRI Team Members with P.R.A.Y.
Complete the Registration Form in Appendix 2A and forward it to
P.R.A.Y. Each registered member of the RRI Team will receive the following servic-es:
• Startup kit (including color posters and brochures);
• RRI Team updates and news bulletins;
• Free subscription to Youthscope, P.R.A.Y.’s quarterly newsletter.
6. Develop a presentation calendar.
Develop a calendar to keep track of presentation requests, to schedule the
display case (see sample”Religious Recognitions Display Reservation Form” in Appendix 2A), and to order necessary handouts and materials.
7. Publicize the RRI Team.
The RRI Team can only be effective if others know about it. Use a variety
of ways to introduce the RRI Team:
• Write articles for the council newsletter (see sample article in Appendix
2A).
• Make announcements at neighborhood/service unit meetings.
• Use the display at family activities or council wide activities involving
families.
• Make presentations at training events.
• Use the display at council training events.
