Two Girl Scouts Earn Jesus and Me Award

Lottie from Harker Heights, TX and Emma from St Louis, MO have something in common: Both are Girl Scouts and both were among the first to earn the new Jesus and Me award.

Lottie loved working through her Jesus and Me book and especially making the scroll and adding to it. According to her mother Amanda, “This workbook is perfect for kindergarten age students.”

Emma is a first grader and thinks “everybody should make a scroll!” She was surprised (and pleased!) with how long her scroll turned out, and she especially enjoyed the final review with the pastor.

Sam S. Receives Four-Star Pin

Family Still Uses Prayer Rocks

This is Sam S. (Star Scout - BSA Troop #109) receiving his God & Life pin and his Four-Star pin from Reverend Doug Patterson at Smithfield UCC in Pittsburgh, PA. Sam is in 9th grade and is pictured with his parents.

Rebecca (Sam’s mom) had this to say: “We still use the prayer rocks from the earlier books! I don't remember which book had us create Prayer Rocks... but we have two or three of them floating around the house, many years later!”

Note: Prayer Rocks were introduced in the God and Me program for grades 1-3. That means Sam’s family has been hiding prayer rocks for at least 6 years!

Mark Shares God and Church Experience

Mark S.

Clarksville, IN

New Beginnings Church

"I have learned a lot about Jesus's miracles and how he healed people. I also learned how the disciples spread His words and teachings. My favorite part of the program was to help my Pastor's ministry project of shopping for food with my friends for people in need and then delivering the food to their home. This was my favorite part because I was able to pick out the food and help make sure we got the best value for the food we purchased. I also enjoyed helping my Pastor prepare for a worship service preparing the communion and I also said a prayer during the service. The following week, I helped with the Children's Church."

The Clark Family Makes Pizza!

“We did the God and Family program together along with our Assistant pastor and we loved this 6 week journey. The lessons not only helped our son learn more about God, but brought us closer together as a family. My son enjoyed the connection between the pizza and the family, it helped him understand the importance of family and faith. Thanks again!” - the Clark family, Ohio
